My best telescope purchase to date. I've been able to get imaging done with this scope. Well worth getting.

Great scope, happy with the purchase. Read on for more... I was looking for a scope with a wider field along with a shorter focal length to allow me to image additional objects since my other OTA's are 1200 and 1800 focal length. I wanted an APO scope of at least 80mm to go a bit deeper than smaller 60-70mm scopes would offer. Yet I also did not want to go above 1k for the price, excluding the triplets I was looking at. While this is my first refractor, I am happy with the scope! I am using it primarily for imaging yet I have sharp images, small stars, which seems to lack any color fringing or bloated star shapes. I also picked up the .8x WO reducer, another nice piece of gear. I took a few looks visually at the moon and planets (Jupiter, Saturn and Mars), and was amazed at the views. While a bit dimmer than my 150mm Mak-Cass, the sharpness and detail was amazing. To my eyes, much better than my Mak (which is really disappointing to me since Mak's are supposed to be planetary scopes). Maybe my Mak is a bad sample, or maybe the William's is just that good! The build quality and attention to detail is top notch, and this is easily the best non-electronic piece of gear I have. Highly recommend the scope either for visual or astrophotography.

Small, compact and lite, yet carrying a big punch on image clarity and quality! Few nights out have proved a rewarding experience on wide-field observation of star clusters and nebulas (from inner city boundary!) No regrets or buyer’s remorse of any kind. WO’s quality shows up to minute details.
