Worth it! Great mask for much more precise focusing

I bit the bullet after lots of frustration with a generic $15-20 mask that gave a very medioce pattern despite cranking up iso and exposure time. After seeing a number of good reviews, and with a high degree of faith in WO [even though I don't own any WO equipment] I sprung for their Bahtinov mask. I can confirm that it is a GREAT improvement. Given how critical excellent focusing is to everything that follows, it is well worth the increase in price. The pattern allows one to dial in the focus very quickly in live view on my Nikon DSLR.

First Use - Excellent Results!

Last night had the first chance to use this for focusing on a Tak FSQ106 with a Nikon camera. Using a bright star and the camera screen magnify, it was very easy to see the pattern. I had focused before by eye s best I could, but the Bahtinov mask showed I was a little off and it was easy to correct. The mask itself is nice with adjustable padded screws. The claim with this mask is that it produces a brighter pattern. I have nothing to compare it to but can say the pattern is very bright and clear. Recommended.
