TPO 10" Truss Tube f/7.9 Ritchey Chretien Reflecting OTA Telescope

The 10-inch F/8 Ritchey-Chretien Truss Tube OTA from TPO is an all-around excellent scope that boasts incredible versatility, maximizing every inch of its aperture. The fixed position quartz primary mirror utterly negates image shift and also removes the otherwise frustrating task of collimating a scope's primary mirror. Furthermore, the carbon fiber truss tube design drastically reduces the threat of possible temperature shifts causing flexure, the design lending itself to minimizing thermal shifts.

The Ritchey-Chretien design has virtually no coma, chromatic aberration, or spherical aberration, and is an all-around improvement to the Cassegrain while attaining many of the same objectives. The TPO 10 inch F/8 RC then, is a superlative astrograph capable of almost any imaging task. One of the most notable features is indeed its extreme versatility and adaptability.

This Third Planet Optics (TPO) Ritchey Chretien telescope has 10 inches (254mm) of aperture and a focal length of 2032mm. The concave hyperbolic primary and convex hyperbolic secondary are made from low expansion quartz and finished with a scratch-resistant highly reflective 99% dielectric coating for great contrast. The primary mirror is fixed in place in a metal mirror cell, and the secondary resides in a metal housing that can be collimated.

Excellent Imaging Scope

I've had this for about a year and a half now and I really like imaging with it. I've used it at f8 and with the AP CCD67 focal reducer. Works great both ways. Holds collimation and focus doesn't seem to be affected by temp changes. Plus it rides like a dream on my MyT mount. Dave

I love this scope!

Just st finished shooting Jupiter atopposition with my new RC. The results are mind boggling! This thing is a beauty! Turning to deep sky, this scope makes small targets big! What a treat! Built solid and holds collimation perfectly! The best part was you guys at OPT getting it from your Coast in your Country, to my Coast in m Country! Only 2 days! Hard to say what I love more..... The Ritchey Chrétien or you guys! Either way, it's why I keep coming back you OPT! And I know some of the great things you have done for my friends...... you just don't get that kind of incredible treatment from any place else! Highly recommend this scope! Recommend OPT even more! Keep it up guys! Rob Ontario Canada

This is an awesome telescope for astrophotographs. It seems to have the correct balance between focal lenght and aperture for CCDs. I use and recommend TPO reducer 0.8x. The set has round stars from side to side in a 8300 CCD. Ive never used the fans and focus hold all night. An incredible scope for the price.

Great scope for the price

This scope is beautiful, great fit and finish. Scope maintains collimation and is very easy to setup with provided spacers and mammoth focuser. Really a great value for the price. You get a dust cover for the secondary, but no cover for the primary. You also do not get any documentation. It would be nice to get both.
