Product Details

  • Telrad now makes a Bright White version of the Telrad Reflex Sight!

The Telrad Finder Scope provides a non-magnified window on the sky -

It is bright enough to be used in daylight and will be of interest to stage lighting operators.

It projects 1/2 inch, 2-inch and 4 inch illuminated Bright White bullseye circles on the screen which can be brightened or dimmed for user needs. Simply place the star in the center of the bullseye and start star hopping! Both beginning astronomers and seasoned veterans alike enjoy the Telrad's white circle view because it makes it easy to compare to star charts and find objects. For example, a galaxy located 4 degrees southeast of a star becomes simple to locate because your visual reference points are clearly defined. No wonder the Telrad reflex finder is one of the most popular astronomy accessories!

Adding a Telrad Finder to your telescope is equally easy.

Simply connect the included Mounting Base using either provided screws or double-sided tape, align, and you're ready to begin. Additional mounting plates can be purchased and your Telrad bullseye can be moved from scope to scope! Indispensable for accurately centering alignment stars for Go-To telescope models and a "must have" for Dobsonian users, the Telrad finder is so easy that even the youngest stargazer can use it... Even special star charts have been designed to work with this ingenious piece of equipment! Measuring 8.15 x 1.75-inches, this Telrad reflex sight requires four AA batteries and supplies hours upon hours of service. Simply switch it off between objects to conserve battery life - or leave it on and share with others where you're aimed!

    • Image note: The image is of the original Telrad (2 battery version) for example only.

Fast Service

This was the only supplier who did not have to back order the part we required.

This does what it is supposed to do.

Some minor modification to get the cover to fit correctly. Nothing more than a pocket knife and some sandpaper to reshape the plastic and drilling a few small holes to relocate the bracket. I added some small brass washers to make it fit tightly. It is quite large on my TV 60 and seems to work well.

For night-time use a red Telrad

First let me say that I have 4 Telrads. It is a great product. However, I don’t recommend the Sight-Bright for sight a telescope at night. The problem is that the white bulls eye obscures the star you are trying to align. I switched back to the red and it worked fine. It always does. The Sight-Bright may work well for day-time alignments but, I do not like it for siting in on objects at night. If you intend to use it at night, buy the red.
