Orion 1.25" Eyepiece Extension Tube

Orion 1.25" Extension Tube

These anodized, machined aluminum tubes provide extra focuser "back travel" sometimes needed to achieve focus with certain eyepiece/telescope combinations. More back travel is often needed for short-range terrestrial viewing or with use of a field flattener, coma corrector, or focal reducer lens.

This extension tube is made for 1.25" eyepieces and is threaded for filters. Each adds 2" of length extension and has two locking thumbscrews.

Critiquing the "Orion" 1.25" extension tube

Ordered this item from OPT to use on a Celestron 80mm travel scope, to give extra travel of the focuser rack. The item has performed as promised. This unit also allows one to use a 2X or 2.5X "Tele-vue" power mate type barlow, and ZWO ASI-120mm camera for astrophotography, by reaching prime focus before you run out of travel length on the focuser. The item is modestly priced and delivers as well, thanks OPT tech staff. D.H.
