Honestly this has to be one of the best purchases I have made for Astronomy ! I paired this mount with the Celestron Skymaster Pro 20x80 binoculars , you will need the adapter which runs about $36 bucks to pair with celestron but you wont regret it . I have no issues with range of motion ; Switching from a tripod to this parallelogram is great for alleviating the weird angles you come across as a tall guy. If you're a beginner and want to get into astronomy I would definitely recommend this mount with a good pair of binoculars and using OPTCorp.com for your business .
This tripod is a great piece of gear and I would recommend it to any binocular astronomers. If you want BIG BINOCS, you will need one. There are some features which you have to get used to, namely, the limits on range of movement in the vertical plane. This makes it hard to go from the horizon to high overhead viewing without removing the binoculars from their attachment and re-mounting them. The mounting accessory plate doesn't help this. I have used this setup every clear night since I got the tripod and the views are great ! The portability of the tripod makes it something to look forward to, also.
