Optec Lepus HD Telecompressor C11 EdgeHD Edition

Optec's Lepus HD Telecompressor for Celestron C11 EdgeHD Edition is a Lepus 0.62X Telecompressor Lens System.

Mounted in a 3.25-inch x 24tpi threaded holder for direct attachment to Celestron 1100 EdgeHD SCT. This three-piece lens mounting system includes a lens holder, spacer, and orange retaining ring. For use with any Lepus or VLC camera mount having the Optec-2100 2.1-inch dovetail receiver.

The close coupled mount provides optimal image quality by maintaining a minimum distance between EdgeHD corrector optics and Lepus telecompressor lens grouping. The back-focus distance is reduced to 100 mm on-axis and maintained by a camera specific mount (order Lepus camera mount separately). Contact OPT for cameras not listed.

[If you are looking for the camera mount, it is the Celestron 3.25-inch x 24tpi female thread mount // OP-2100 male dovetail]

Ask a Question
  • Does this particular item replace original Celestron 0.7 focal reducer for C11HD? or can be add on as additional focal reducer? are there more pictures how it works installed?

The Lepus is not a replacement, but it is an alternative option. The Lepus has a 22mm image circle at f/6.2 and the Celestron reducer has a 42mm image circle at f/7. Also, the back focus of the Lepus is shorter (105mm vs 146mm) and the Lepus has to use

  • I am a little confused, from the photo this looks like a mounting ring set. Does this actually include the Lepus 0.62X Telecompressor as well as the rings?

This part is for the Lepus 0.62x 11" EdgeHD edition lens holder, black anodized spacer ring, and orange threaded retaining ring to connect to the 3.29"-16 threads on the back of the 11" EdgeHD. The lens holder is the reducer itself. You will need an app
