    Counter Weighty

The Losmandy Dec Axis Counterweight system is exactly what I was looking for. This Losmandy product is well made and will enable me to attach my CCD camera, focuser, guide CCD to the rear of my Celestron CGEM 9.25" OTA and balance the tube so my mount will work smoothly.

    Losmandy DEC counterweight

Perfect solution for my Meade LX850 14” DEC balancing for the many different visual and camera accessory weights. The dovetail clamp is perfect. The supplied weight is a little too heavy for my purposes and so I’ll swap it for one of my 0.5kg weights.

    Perfectly adjustable

Because this mounts to the rail on the OTA, it allows precise balancing, by adjusting where along the rail it mounts. Changes the balance from "close" to exact. I wish there was a smaller weight available.

    Quality Stuff... I love it

This counterweight and mount are well designed, robust, and made with high-quality materials. I am very pleased with this purchase and I frequently use it on my fork-mounted 8-inch SCT with a variety of scope-mounted accessory configurations. This counterweight works great in conjunction with the other counterweights, mounts, and accessories I have on the scope, and I can achieve perfect balance in all pointing directions with an ever-changing variety of accessories. This particular version of the counterweight mount has a short threaded rod, so I like to use it on the scope's top rail making it less of an eye danger than the counterweight version with the longer threaded rod (which I use on the scope's underside). Additionally, I screw a small plastic ball atop the threaded rod to further alleviate any eye danger. One last thing... I ordered two extra weights that are sometimes necessary for balancing certain accessory configurations.
