Great Trip-Pier - Solid as a Rock
This tri-pier is well built and very stable. It introduces very little vibration in strong winds, or with large OTA's mounted. Together with an Ioptron CE60 mount is just about manageable to move in/out of the house. It is not possible to do this with an OTA mounted. My only gripe is that the adjustment levers for the lower legs are a little short and difficult to undo if tight with cold hands.
Tri-Pier after a month
Very solid. Very stable. A little difficult to level which is important to me (not everyone) because I move it about and leveling makes initial star alignment just a bit easier.
Very good service
Heavier than I expected
Set-up is easy. Height adjustments to level the mount are easy. Harder to find places for velcro to attach the HC. I ordered the black and white model but OPT sent the Black and red. It’s different so I’ll keep it. It’s nice to have a rolling case, but it adds to the weight.
