    CEM26 Mount

iOptron's CEM26 Center-Balance Equatorial Mount is the newest generation of compact EQ mounts from iOptron. They are designed with portability in mind, with the mount itself weighing only 10 lbs and a payload of up to 26 lbs (a 2.6 mount weight to payload ratio!) The secret to this is in the design of the mount itself - the mount and payload weight are directly centered on the tripod, giving you "natural stability".

The CEM26 mount is equipped with large and easy to use quick-lock gear clutches. Its precision stepper motor enables you to have precise GOTO and accurate tracking. The Go2Nova 8409 controller features advanced GOTONOVA GOTO technology, giving you the opportunity to expertly track your target in the night sky.

While you will notice some of the same features from older CEM models, there are added functions that will enhance the user experience. These include a positive lock gear engagement system that is easy to use, even when you're wearing gloves! The built-in Wi-Fi enables you to have great, stable connection and you will have the ability to record permanent periodic error correction (PPEC) in order to repeat optimal PEC training sessions.

The CEM26 delivers precise pointing and accurate tracking, giving you functionality you could have only dreamed of. The 212,000 object library ensures that you'll never run out of dark sky objects to observe or photograph.

The CEM26 is the new standard for compact equatorial mounts. Get yours today!

First imaging of M31 with CEM26

My old LXD75 mount failed to track so I substituted the newly arrived and just unboxed CEM26 for my Esprit 80/Canon EOS T5 rig. I found the AccuAlign finder scope easy to use since I can see Polaris well and used a phone app to give its reticle position. Tracking was spot on for over 2 hrs. I imaged M31 in 30 sec subs and got 251 of them. The result looks fine to me. The only thing I didn't fully like about the mount was that the RA and DEC clutches don't really let you manually center an object of interest... you really have to use the arrow keys on the handset on one of the slew settings or use the laptop. My older mounts always let me do this by slightly engaging each clutch so that both could be moved manually at the same time and then tightened when the object was centered. But, all in all, a great little mount. Definitely dealt easily with my 12-13 lb rig.

My experiencie with the iOptron CEM26 EQ Mount

My experience with the iOptron CEM26 EQ Mount with AccuAlign and 1.5" Tripod it has been gradual. It's my first goto montage. Although it's one of the simplest mounts on iOptron, I guarantee it's great for medium and small telescopes. For those who live in low latitudes like me, very close to the equator, this type of setup is exceptional because it reaches up to 0° on the AR axis. Most equatorial mounts start above 7 degrees, which is a problem for polar alignment is because the counterweight is also bumping into the tripod of the mount. Very good mount I recommend mainly for beginners on goto the iOptron CEM26 EQ Mount with AccuAlign and 1.5" Tripod. Although it is a lightweight mount with excellent mobility, it is nevertheless very firm preventing the telescope from shaking and moving up to 11kg. Jorge Manoel - Roraima -Brazil
