A mount for the masses
I will keep my EQ mounts to keep challenging me until I’m proficient. But…when I don’t have time or when the kids and grandkids are over, this rig gets the call. No fuss alignment. Will carry a 22 lb newt on one side and an 80mm refractor on the other with no sweat. This is a fun mount. A different genre of mount. Worth every penny. My pier had two issues upon arrival. Ioptron fixed it within a week, which is why I will always have their mounts.

Nice mount - works fine at max payload
Really like this mount as a grab and go setup. Super easy to get started. 3 star alignment works well. Holds my c9.25 with two 2.5kg counter weights and one 2.5 weight. Only a couple negatives: The center bolt to the tri-pier is not well thought out. Kind of hard to get it started. Easily scratches the paint where it comes out of the tripod. Difficult to get it both tightened well and leveled at the same time Other gripe is that you will scratch the tube on the tri-pier with normal use. It’s sliding rings that are metal on a painted metal surface and there’s no way to avoid scratches. Minor complaints and the mount works just great in the field.
AZ/Mount tri-pier
Am waiting on a center bolt, so I can attach mount to the tri-pier. Have not used item yet.
