  • The Intuitive AZ Mount Pro GoTo Setup:

We call it "level and go", the term used to describe iOptron AZ Mount Pro's simple set up routing. Using its built-in precision level indicator, the operator simply levels the mount and turns on the power; this capable computerized alt-azimuth telescope mount takes it from there. Utilizing the onboard 32 channel GPS receiver and built-in position and angular detection sensors; the AZ mount Pro calculates its global position as well as the telescope orientation. Automatically the mount slews the instrument to an easily identifiable bright object in the night sky. The user needs only to confirm a bright object is in the center of the view, to activate tracking and GOTO functionality. It's as easy as that!

A mount for the masses

I will keep my EQ mounts to keep challenging me until I’m proficient. But…when I don’t have time or when the kids and grandkids are over, this rig gets the call. No fuss alignment. Will carry a 22 lb newt on one side and an 80mm refractor on the other with no sweat. This is a fun mount. A different genre of mount. Worth every penny. My pier had two issues upon arrival. Ioptron fixed it within a week, which is why I will always have their mounts.

Nice mount - works fine at max payload

Really like this mount as a grab and go setup. Super easy to get started. 3 star alignment works well. Holds my c9.25 with two 2.5kg counter weights and one 2.5 weight. Only a couple negatives: The center bolt to the tri-pier is not well thought out. Kind of hard to get it started. Easily scratches the paint where it comes out of the tripod. Difficult to get it both tightened well and leveled at the same time Other gripe is that you will scratch the tube on the tri-pier with normal use. It’s sliding rings that are metal on a painted metal surface and there’s no way to avoid scratches. Minor complaints and the mount works just great in the field.

AZ/Mount tri-pier

Am waiting on a center bolt, so I can attach mount to the tri-pier. Have not used item yet.
