DESCRIPTION

Explore Scientific 8 x 50 Straight-Through Finder Scope

Upgrade your small 5x24 or 6x30 finderscope with this Explore Scientific 8x50 finder! You will get a bit more magnification, but more importantly, images will be brighter due to the larger optics, and brighter images mean you will see more through this finder than through a smaller one. This difference is critical for objects that are right on the edge of seeing when viewed through your current finder...it can make the difference between finding that elusive galaxy or not. The Explore 8 x 50 finder has a magnification of 8X and a 50mm objective. The barrel is white with black trim. This straight-through finder comes with a bracket, as shown in the photograph. Alignment of the finder within the rings is achieved by turning the knurled knobs to gently push the barrel in the direction you desire. The dovetail shoe on the bottom of the bracket fits into most adapters for this purpose, or you can purchase one and change that out on your scope as well.

broken crosshairs

within a few months of using (lightly) with my 152mm, the crosshairs fell apart, which are very helpful in determining center of view, so will ask ES for warranty replacement or upgrade to a right angle, maybe illuminated. Maybe that Stellavue with the 1.25" interchangeable eyepieces?
