• Baader Clicklock Eyepiece Clamp 1.25" T-2

  This new model of Baader Planetarium Click-lock Eyepiece Clamp is a highly precise clamping eyepiece holder which is designed to enable you to insert any eyepiece you like or any kind of standard 1.25" accessories anywhere within the ASTRO T-2 System it was designed to work with. It's also useful for upgrading the stock holder supplied with telescopes. The Click-Lock clamp used here offers a unique and impressively useful approach to eyepiece holders; the makers insure that once you try one, you'll never want to go back to simple set screws or even captive brass clamp rings again! With these models, it's as easy as a gentle twist of the outer ring- upon that motion, two special non-marring rollers come into contact with the eyepiece,and firmly lock it into the holder. What is more, the three-point clamp action involved guarantees that none of the eyepiece wobble that often occurs in most single screw clamps or Takahashi lockring style holders will occur here! One of the more annoying hassles of standard holders, contortions of trying to work your nose around an inconveniently placed screw? Entirely avoided by the lack of a protruding screw lock! To further extol this fine piece of hardware benefits - let me continue on to note that the holder is precisely machined to fit the eyepieces it's meant to work with with a minimum slop, the fit close and accurate so as to keep your eyepiece properly centered on the optical axis. What is more, the cam rollers have been made to be of a long contact length, so as to make the holder compatible with all grooved eyepiece barrel types by bridging the groove. This means no more mismatch or hassle with unlocking from the groove. Indeed - it can be easily said that the secure grip of the cam lock makes the grooved barrels obsolete, in the opinions of those who created it. On the frontal side- also the input side- the eyepiece clamp has an internal T-2 thread, allowing it to mate to the other components of the T-2 system that it was made to work with. On the output side of things, Baader has added two unique and useful features to this model; the top of the holder is actually also an adjustable micro-focusing collar, with 6.5mm of travel. This allows one to precisely vary and set the overall clamp's height to allow fine adjustment of focus or height by matching it with other accessories! Furthermore, this ring can easily be removed - exposing an external T-2 thread. If you go so far as to couple additional extension tubes, you can even use the Click-Lock as an afocal projection system (using any eyepiece with OD's of 37mm maximum).
