Product Details

  • The Askar FMA135 is one of the best ways to enter the exciting world of astro-imaging with an astrograph. If you’ve ever wondered what an astrograph can do for you, this is a great way to find out without breaking the bank.

This astrograph is a 30mm air-spaced apochromatic refractor with an f/4.5 triplet and because it is an astrograph, it includes an integrated three-element field flattener that yields superb, pinpoint stars throughout the image plane.

    What is an Astrograph?

The field-flattener is what sets an astrograph apart from a standard APO refractor and this one has three elements that won’t disappoint, providing pinpoint stars all the way to the edge of the field.

This low-cost instrument delivers amazing color correction and image quality at a very affordable price and is a great introduction to the exciting world of astrophotography.

The objective lens has a compact focal length of 135mm and is optimized and tested for advanced astrophotography and sharp images. Interestingly, when mounted on cameras with 1” or smaller sensors, this astrograph provides images as good as telescopes costing much more. A great value indeed.

The FMA135 can also work as an excellent finder or autoguider. Its lightweight makes it possible to attach the FMA135 to various cameras with corresponding adapters. Once attached, the FMA135 operates as a 135mm telephoto lens, allowing for long-distance, ground-based landscapes.

There is 1.25" female thread at the front of the astrograph suitable for 1.25" filters and standard M42×0.75 male thread at the back which accommodates most stock DSLR or astronomy cameras (an extra adapter is needed).

The FMA135 includes a mounting ring with Vixen-style dovetail, a 1.25" visual back for the attachment of an eyepiece or a guiding camera as well as a rotatable focuser.
