Stellarvue SV80-Access f/7 Doublet Refracting Telescope

An affordable example of a Super Apochromatic Refractor, the Stellarvue Access 80 mm (3.15-inch) is composed of a unique composite of materials intended to cut down on the cost without sacrificing any quality whatsoever- and we'd say they pulled it off! The objective was designed so as to contain an apochromatic doublet which uses a combination of FPL53 and Lanthanum which works to keep your image contrast high. Each and every lens is aligned by the manufacturer before they ship it out- ensuring that you'll be receiving color-free visual performance without any kind of price mark up as a result of it! Meanwhile, the 2.5-inch focuser is a work of craftsmanship in its own right,  its smooth and steady dual speed performance provides a full 2.875-inch of travel- perfect for use in imaging or visual work. The heavy-duty rack and pinion unit in question has a surprisingly smooth 8:1 ratio focus to ensure perfect focus and control every time, as well as it's superior, heavy-duty design ensuring smooth and stable drawtube travel every time.

The Stellarvue Access 80 mm also comes equipped with a dew shield finished in Instrument white with black anodized aluminum fittings; this dew shield is retractable as needed, and extending it both serves the purpose of shielding your scope from overnight dewing, but also helps protect it from Sun-glare during the day.

Meanwhile, the inside of the tube is painted black and treated so as to prevent any internal tube wall reflections, further increasing performance by doing so! To further increase the value of this item, it is packaged with two lightweight, hinged aluminum mounting rings. Each of these rings has three screws on the top and three on the bottom, and the threaded holes in them are 6 mm. There's one central hole, and then a pair spaced 38 mm apart.

Stellarvue SV80-Access f/7 Doublet Refracting Telescope Features:

  • High-quality Dewshield included
  • Machined aluminum tube painted Instrument White outside, ultra-flat back inside.
  • The main tube has a 3.5-inch diameter. The complete telescope is 20.5-inch long with the dew shield extended and 18-inch long with dew shield retracted.
  • The optical tube assembly weighs about 5.5-pounds, 6.4-pounds with rings, rail and finder.
  • Each ring has three 6 mm threaded holes top and bottom with one in the center and two spaced 1.5-inch apart.
  • Heavy Duty Rack and Pinion Focuser.
  • 2.5-inch dual speed Stellarvue FSV25B rack and Pinion focuser with 2-inch and 1.25-inch compressing ring adapters.

Ask a Question
  • Hello, Will the standard Orion off axis guider and DSLR or zwo b/w camera be compatible (focus) with this scope? Thanks Bob

Yes, you can use most standard OAG's on this scope, including but not limited to Orions. OAG. This scope will also support a full frame DSLR or ccd/cmos camera and still acheive focus with an OAG or other additional equipment. Keep in mind reducer/flatteners have a set back focus. Please feel free to reach out to  our expert staff for any further information.

  • Hello. Would this work well with a AT72ED? If so, what spacers would I need to reach 55mm with canon T3i? Thank you.

This reducer will likely work well, as your scope is an ED doublet within the parameters that this reducer works best. All you need to get to 55mm is a standard Canon T-ring (11mm), and your Canon DSLR (44mm).

  • First question is this still in stock? Second ... The Dove tail it comes with will it fit my Celestron VX Mount? If not what is needed for it. Third ... The case is included? Finder scope bracket yes or no? Thanks

I just physically looked and the Used Meade 115 is in stock. It comes with a standard Vixen Dovetail, which will fit the Advanced VX mount. The case is included, but I do not believe the finder scope bracket comes with it. Sean

  • Does the focuser have two thumb screws to hold a diagonal in or just one ?

It does have two thumb screws for the 2", but only one for the 1.25" eyepiece holder.
