VersaGo GX 80mm AZ Refractor
If you're looking for a perfectly simple and fully functional telescope that can be used for both daytime and nighttime visual pursuits, then you will love Orion's newest edition - the VersaGo GX 80ST Refractor! This telescope combines Orion's popular ShortTube 80 mm compact refractor with a new mount, which is the ultra lightweight VersaGo GX Altazimuth mount. You'll love how easy this telescope set-up is to take with you anywhere the dark skies are calling while being super easy to use. The VersaGo GX 80 mm Refractor is awesome for both beginners and more-experienced users. Amateurs will love how easy it is to use and set up, while the more advanced gazers will be excited to use it as a grab-and-go scope for any impromptu viewing.
This telescope is fitted with two diagonals for your viewing pleasure. The first being a 90-degree star diagonal, providing you an easy, convenient viewing angle for looking upward while stargazing. You'll also receive a 45-degree correct-image diagonal that can be used for daytime terrestrial observing, when things need to appear right-side up. Simply place the 90-degree diagonal and an eyepiece in the rack-and-pinion focuser to enjoy clear, wide-field views of the starry night sky with its impressive 400 mm focal length (f/5) and 80 mm diameter achromatic lens. You'll be an expert of the lunar surface with the included Orion MoonMap260 and will be able to see crisp images of the Moon like you've never experienced. Anti-reflection multi-coatings on the optics further validate that your images will be bright and vivid.
Pop on the 45-degree correct-image diagonal and either the included 25 mm (16x) or 10 mm (40x) Sirius Plossl eyepiece and you'll be able to take in your surroundings while the Sun is up. The 6x26 correct-image finder scope will help you really focus in on your subject.
The VersaGo GX altazimuth mount makes it super easy to navigate your telescope. All you need to do is grab the pan handle and smoothly point the telescope in any direction. For fine movements, you have a knurled slow-motion knob on both the altitude and azimuth axes at your disposal, making mount movements during those cold nights with gloves on a breeze. The tripod is fitted with stable, extendable aluminum legs and a twist-in accessory tray.
