Orion FunScope 76 mm (3-Inch) Aperture Tabletop Reflector Telescope
A scope doesn't need to be a toy to be an optimal first telescope for kids and teenagers just getting into astronomy- and the Orion 76 mm Fun Scope is solid, tangible proof! This splendid model is a real reflecting telescope with a 76 mm (3-Inch) diameter polished spherical mirror which allows you to capture 60-percent more light than a typical 50 mm or 60 mm beginner's telescope would. Indeed; despite its name, the FunScope is above average in most fields for a beginner telescope. That it gathers more light means that the Orion FunScope will provide both brighter and clearer views of the heavens than a smaller diameter telescope. To further sweeten the deal, the Fun Scope Moon kit includes the Orion Moon Map 260; a detailed map of the Earth's moon that makes it much easier for budding astronomers to find the official names of the many, many interesting features they'll see of the moon through this scope!
The Fun Scope reflector telescope comes with two eyepieces standard; a 20 mm eyepiece which gives a 15x view, and a 10 mm eyepiece which lets you observe at a more powerful 30x magnification. This allows for both a broad range of view, and intense magnification, with the same scope. It also arrives equipped with an intensely useful red-dot aiming tool; a reflex sight which makes it very easy to aim the telescope at any sky-objects you want to. The Orion FunScope also conveniently arrives fully assembled, meaning you don't need to worry about the hassle of figuring out how to put it together, or working out how to understand complicated directions- just set it down and observe! If there's no table to mount it on where you want to make use of the small-scale telescope, the entire assembly can be mounted onto any tripod equipped with a 3/8-inch or 1/4-inch/20 threaded post since the FunScope features a built-in 3/8 tripod adapter and includes 1/4-inch/20 threaded bushing.
