Explore the Features of the C9.25 Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope

StarBright XLT Coatings

All-optical surfaces are coated with StarBright XLT coatings. These tube assemblies are equipped with the same dovetail mounting plates that are used on CG-5 mounts for easy attachment to a variety of popular mounts.

Powerful Observation

Besides seeing all of the Messier Catalog objects, you can also see hundreds of other objects like NGC, IC, and Caldwell. Turn this scope towards the planets and see amazing detail on the surface of Jupiter, Cassini's Division, and resolve details on the surface of Mars. Even the distant Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are within your viewing reach!

Upgraded System

The C9.25 is Celestron's first new SCT optical system in over a decade. The new C9.25 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope features a precision optical system with a 2350 mm focal length, a focal ratio of f/10, and comes standard with Celestron's StarBright XLT coatings at no extra cost.

2 Year Warranty

Celestron warrants your telescope to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for two years. Celestron will repair or replace such product or part thereof which, upon inspection by Celestron, is found to be defective in materials or workmanship.

The telescope came very well packaged! My 1st surprise was that I didn't know that it had the Fast Star feature allowing the use of the new Hyperstar System. I will be upgrading to this after I learn to image and process better, it's the future for us backyarders. The telescope is Big!, but not to worry folks it only weighs 20lbs and mounts easily enough. (I'm 59 practice mounting in the light) I have an Advanced AVX mount that came with I think an 8lb counter weight, you'll need about another 5lbs to balance if you have similar. This is with my DSLR and 50mm RACI Finder scope attached. The 30mm finder that comes with it is adequate, very easy to align and seems to hold alignment after mounting and dismounting 5 times just having to turn a screw a tiny bit. I used a Celestron 6.7 focal reducer to view and image the planets with. The views are outstanding of Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, Moon, Orion Nebula and the Pinwheel Galaxy! The best I've ever seen except at a Star Party when I able to view with several very high end rigs. Lots of detail on the planets, Orion and the Pinwheel! Highly recommend the focal reducer, a must have item!!! I'm not going to say much on imaging because I really don't know what is good, great, excellent etc... My planets have turned out really good for my standards and low skill level. The images I've seen other people produce are excellent and everyone I can find have nothing but great things to say about it, as do I. I'd buy it again in a second!

Celestron 9.25-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain OTA with CG-5 Mount Plate

Telescope arrived with the wrong mounting plate (CG-5 ordered - CGE supplied). OPT expedited a replacement out pretty quickly while I paid the cloud tax on the telescope so not much of an impact. Although it was a little disappointing receiving the wrong order, OPT rectified it in a very satisfactory manner and I'd buy from them again. The telescope optics itself arrived perfectly collimated. I've only been able to view the moon to date while performing initial test of the scope and the view was the best I've ever seen in any of my telescopes. A quick snap from my mobile through the eyepiece offered one of the best Images I've ever taken of the moon too; despite having used dedicated imagers in the past. Looking forward to using this primarily as a tool for imaging galaxies, and on occasion, Saturn, Jupiter and the moon. Thanks OPT!

Celestron C9.25 Telescope

It is an excellent telescope with great optics. It arrived perfectly collimated, and I have been imaging the Moon with it. It produces terrific images and with a 2X Barlow shows great detail. There is very little mirror shift with focusing. It is actually lighter in weight then the 6” refractor I had been using before. The only concern is that the finder is barely adequate, but I have replaced it with a good 50mm finder with right angle eyepiece holder. The scope is excellent and comes at a very good price for the quality of the optics. I am really glad that I bought the telescope.

Very good star test - better than my first 9.25 (circa 2000). Minor collimation touch-up needed.
