What is a solar telescope?
A solar telescope, also known as a sun telescope, is a device specially designed to observe the sun. Solar telescopes tend to focus on the visible spectrum and wavelengths close to it.
Are solar telescopes safe?
Yes, solar telescopes are safe when used correctly. Looking at the sun with the naked eye can lead to blindness and retinal damage, and doing so with normal telescopes or binoculars is even more dangerous. Solar telescopes, on the other hand, filter out harmful wavelengths and reduce the amount of the sun’s light so that it is safe to look at or photograph.
