Ask a Question
  • What is this telescope's eyepiece fitting diameter?it does not specify in the additional info section will it be compatible with this camera mount ?https://www.optcorp.com/celestron-neximage-burst-color.html thanks for answering my questions

This telescope accepts 1.25" eyepieces and will allow you to attach the NexImage Burst camera. You will need to add a motor to the mount to allow longer videos of the moon or planets to be shot.

  • What is a finderscope? Is it a good finder? How does it work? Thanks.

The included finderscope with this scope is a 5x24mm, meaning it is adequate for a beginner telescope but could be improved upon. A Rigel Quikfinder or Celestron red dot finder might be a better option. Please contact us if you have questions.

  • What size cover will fit this telescope.

Hello Kurt, There are two types of covers that are available for this telescope depending on the type of protection that you want. If you want to just cover it & the weather is dry, the TeleGizmos Solar Cover for 3" (80mm-120mm) Refractors will suffice.

  • The specifications list the focal ratio as f/7.87 and a 5" mirror. That's a focal length of approx. 40 inches, yet the tube size is only 20" long. What is it? ~ f/4 or ~f/8???

The light is bounced off the mirror at the bottom of the tube and has come back up to the focuser; so the first half of the focal length is the trip down to the mirror, and the second half is the trip to the focuser.

  • The specifications list the focal ratio as f/7.87 and a 5" mirror. That's a focal length of approx. 40 inches, yet the tube size is only 20" long. What is it? ~ f/4 or ~f/8???

The tube is f/7.87 with a 2x barlow lens built into the focuser. The telescope requires this barlow to reach infinity focus.
