Efficient Mechanics 

Connect and guide at faster and smoother rates! The ASI290MM uses a USB 3.0 interface that provides a 5 GB bandwidth, allowing your camera to run at 82.2 fps and 170 fps at max resolution. This camera also comes with an ST4 guide port so the camera can directly connect to your mount for autoguiding.

      ZWO ASI 90 Monochrome CMOS Camera

      Excellent camera for imaging the planets. One can obtain over 10,000 images in a one minute video depending upon the brightness of the planet. Using the Orion Specialized Planetary Imaging Filter Set I was able to image the planets in the ultraviolet, infrared and even the 890nm methane band. This camera is a MUST for all planetary imagers.

      ASI-290 fast and accurate

      This was used for imaging the three bright planets in fall 2018. Everything worked flawlessly. Using the USB port it is fast. It is easy to get 100 fps with whatever exposure fits up to the 10ms, obviously longer exposures limit the frame rate, but the relationship stayed linear. The control of the gain worked well. The "all-sky" lens that came with it was helpful when testing the camera operation out of the box before taking it out at night. Resolution was a good match with a Meade 10" f/10 and a Powermate 2.5X. The noise performance was as expected for this sensor. The build quality was nice, and everything fit together without effort or adjustments. Good purchase for the money.
