    ZWO ASI120S Super Speed Monochrome CMOS Camera - USB 3.0

    An ultra fast incarnation of it's predecessor, the ZWO ASI120S has the ability to deliver frames at 254 per second with reduced resolution or 60 frames per second at full resolution. This wide range of resolution and capture settings allows you to switch from planetary and lunar imaging to DSO's easily without having to weigh down your set up with an additional camera.

    Housed in a gorgeous metallic red aluminum housing with both a USB and ST4 autoguider port. 6.5 ft. cables for both are included as are a 2 inch M42x0.75 threaded interface and standard M42 to 1.25 inch nosepiece. A 1/4-20 thread in the center bottom of the camera makes for easy attachment to a wide variety of camera mounts and tripods. 4 M4 threads offer additional mounting positions, along the outside edge.

    Due to the USB 3.0 connection, image download times are lightning fast. The ZWO ASI120 Super Speed Monochrome camera is a perfect choice for lunar and planetary imaging and features a CMOS sensor sensitive enough to capture bright deep-sky objects. Truly a "do it all" camera at an incredible price making it the clear choice for the serious beginning or intermediate astrophotographer.

    The ASI120MM-S is built on a 1/3 inch CMOS AR0130S monochrome sensor. Beautiful details are revealed in high resolution black and white. Pair with a filter wheel to capture each color or narrowband and stack images as you choose. The pixel array of 1280x960 and a pixel size of 3.75 micron square, this camera is capable of capturing moderately wide fields with the included 150 degree wide angle lens adapter. Peak QE is 75% with absolutely no fixed pattern noise. Protecting the sensor is an IR-cut window.

    • Is this adaptable with C mount lenses?

      The camera comes with a T- to C mount adapter (the included fisheye lens is a C mount lens), but the included adapter is too short to reach infinity focus with most C mount lenses. The adapter could be shimmed underneath or a longer adapter could be made

      actually, the adapter come with ASI camera is T to CS adapter. so you need another CS-C adapter to use C lens. the difference between C and CS interface is only the back focus of C is 5 mm longer than CS

    • Will this work with PHD on a Mac?

      Unfortunately, the current ZWO drivers will only work on Windows OS as they use either a directshow or ASCOM driver. There may be plans for OS-X drivers in the future, but there have not been any official announcements yet. They do have both a Mac and Lin

      It will not interfere in any practical way. H-alpha is safely within the visible portion of the spectrum, and any attenuation it will see from the IR-cut filter over the CMOS sensor in this camera will be insignificant relative to solar-imaging. The same

      This camera dose not have the back focus to accommodate a DSLR Lens

      Yes, it will work but, you will need to have the mount on an equatorial wedge to achieve accurate tracking.
