ZWO ASI120MC Super Speed Color CMOS Telescope Camera

The ZWO ASI120MC Super Speed Color Camera is a perfect choice for lunar and planetary imaging. Its CMOS sensor is sensitive enough to capture bright deep-sky objects like star clusters or nebulas. Featuring a USB 3.0 connection, image download times are lightning fast! Adapt the 150-degree wide-angle lens adapter to unlock wide-field images.

The ZWO ASI120MC Super Speed Color Camera Features

Prioritized Mechanics

Built on a one-third inch CMOS AR0130S full-color sensor and protected by an IR-cut window, the ZWO ASI120MC is ideal for beginner or intermediate astrophotographers. Its pixel array of 1280 x 960 and a pixel size of 3.75-micron square removes the need for color filters. With a peak QE of 75% with no fixed pattern noise, get single-shot images in full color!

Accelerated Performance

Switch from planetary to deep space imaging without having to weigh down your set up. The ZWO ASI120MC produces frames with 254 per second with reduced resolution or 60 frames per second at full resolution.

Optimum Design

Encamped in a vibrant, metallic red aluminum housing, the ZWO ASI120MC is convenient and versatile. Easily attach a wide variety of camera mounts and tripods with its one-fourth 20 thread in the center bottom of the camera or any of its four M4 threads along the outside edge.

Great little imager

I found this camera easy to use, and the picture quality was excellent. I've only taken moderately short exposures, 5 mins and less but very pleased with the results.

ZWO ASI 120 is good

Once I was able to download the correct software for the camera I found that it worked well. I am just using it for an auto-guider and I sometimes cannot find a good guide star easily so I should have purchased the more sensitive monochrome version of the camera but live and learn.

ZWO ASI 120 is good

At first I was disappointed that it didn't come with the software CD as advertised but after some weeks I was able to find the files on-line and download them and once I found the right software to go with the camera it worked well as an auto-guider though i probably should have gotten the monochrome instead of the color camera as it is more sensitive and there are times when I cannot find a good guide star in this color camera. Overall, this CMOS has performed admirably. I used both "SmartCap" and "FireCap" imaging programs. It worked well with both. Used Autostakkert-2 to stack and align videos. Concentrated on imaging Lunar crater "CLAVIUS" and gave a superb finished photo! Wish OPT would put up a site to submit photos, one picture is still worth a thousand words. The item was well packaged and actually arrived a day ahead of schedule, thanks OPT that's what keeps us coming back. D. Harris, Colo. USA.
