This guidescope does not have a standard focuser, but it has a helical adjustment with a lock ring that allows you to shift the focus by a few mm each way. An Orion guide camera should work without extensions needed, while some eyepieces may need to be pu
Is it suitable to use with STL 11000 +AOL unit ? backfocus,imaging circle,lifting capacity of focuser?
Possibly, but it would require custom adapters and you would have no way to rotate the camera. The STL-11000 + AOL combo takes up a minimum of 74mm of back focus with the 5 position wheel and 3mm thick filters. The default back focus of the Star71 is 71.3
Does this finder have a correct image left to right? I need it for star hopping using sky charts.
Unfortunately, no. This finder was designed for guiding, so no effort was made to flip the image into a correct orientation as the extra prisms needed in the back to correct the image would make it difficult to use this as a guidescope. The William Opti
