Vixen HF Alt-Azimuth Fork Mount & Half Pillar

Vixen Alt-Azimuth Fork Mount & Half Pier

The Vixen fork mount is a heavy-duty Alt-Azimuth mount made with the Vixen Astronomical Observation Binoculars in mind, but it is a great solution for a wide variety of astronomical binoculars with 80mm or more of aperture. The fork arms can be placed at a 45 degree angle or straight up. The mount and half pillar are meant to sit on the Vixen HAL130 GP Tripod (sold separately), or one with similar tripod head.

Optional Swing Bracket fits nicely between the fork arms and allows altitude adjustment of binoculars. Many astronomical binoculars have a built-in post-style tripod adapter. If your binoculars have this accessory, they will attach directly to the swing arm. Check out the "Accessories" tab to the left to see (and choose) Swing Bracket, and tripod.

Ask a Question
  • Hi OPT !! Would this Vixen Fork Mount (VX-38062) coupled with the binocular swing bracket (VX-3798) and the HAL 130 tripod (VX-25161) support an Orion BT100 Binocular weighting in at 15 lbs. ?? Thanks. Dave Whigham

Good to see the interest! This should work just fine!

Yes, this fork and bracket will support the weight as long as you can balance it front to back on the swing arm bracket. These same forks are used with the BT126 5" binoculars, that Vixen makes, so a 100mm binoscope will be fine.
