A super great telescope within a very affordable price. A 20mm PLOSSL lens on a clear, cool night just gives way a fantastic view of the night sky. I'm glad picked this over a PS3. I hope to use this for many years to come, and see plenty of deep sky objects. I'm a happy customer. The adjuster isn't the most refined thing the world, but it works despite some vibration. It's not made in Japan like *****'s nicer models, but believe me it's a solid Newtonian, hands down. This scope on my OMNI CG-4 mount is bread and butter. Heck, I'd buy one for friend if I had the money. Clear skies
Almost perfect grab-n-go newt for alt/az mount. There is enough in-focus to use with starter binoviewers giving awesome rich field views. With an equatorial mount, this f/5 newt makes a very nice starter DSO imaging scope. I personally like the classic white tube with red ***** logo.
I have been searching for the perfect grab & go scope for years and I have found it.I bought this OTA from OPT about four months ago used, but in new condition and mounted it on an Ioptron goto that I also bought from OPT about a year ago. A perfect marriage of scope and goto mount.Great optics and quality build of the scope and perfect goto capabilities and ease of use of the Ioptron makes this so.I have tried an 80mm refractor,a 114mm reflecter and an ETX but none gave me the views the R130Sf has given me.I do have an 8 Dob so I was skeptical of the light gathering capabilities of this scope but I am overwhelmed with what it can do for its size.I highly recommend this setup for someone just starting out or for a seasoned observer like me who wants a very light and capable grab&go setup. And with OPT one cannot go wrong buying new or used equipment.

I’ve owned the ***** R130Sf now for about 2 years. It has been right from the start a good scope. I bought it in the Porta mount package. The initial images of the moon and Jupiter were eye watering and I especially liked the way the slow motion controls kept the object in sight without making it all jittery like my older (and cheaper scope did. Last summer we had the chance to get out in the country and that’s when the 5” mirror did its best. I was able to show my wife and kids some pretty cool clusters and nebula. It was just fun scanning through the Milky Way galaxy with the slow motion controls.
