Used Coronado PST Double Stack-H-Alpha Telescope w/CaseThe double stacked Personal Solar Telescope (PST) from Coronado Solar is one of the most accessible options available for H-Alpha solar viewing and imaging. This model of PST has been designed from the ground up with the goal of creating a telescope fully optimized to be the ideal instrument for H-alpha bandwidth solar astronomy, and it shows on every level of performance. The double stack model, as suggested by its name, uses a double stacked 0.5 angstrom bandpass h-alpha solar filter as an integrated component of its optics. The PST shows prominence and solar surface details with a stunning level of clarity and sharpness, and features a built in solar viewfinder as well as a 40mm external tunable Etalon, a 20mm Kellner eyepiece, an integrated focuser, and bandpass fine adjustment controls.

Questions & AnswersAsk a Question
Can you attach a dove tail mount and put it on an equatorial mount?
Yes, the PST has two 1/4"-20 tapped holes running front to back down the centerline of the scope. If you get a D or V-series dovetail with a slot down the middle, you should be able to attach the dovetail to both screws for extra stability. The scope is
Can you do imaging with this scope and a DSLR camera? Is there enough focusing range? I have a Canon T-3 rebel and T-ring adaptors for a variety of scopes.
There is not enough focus range to attach a DSLR natively, but you can do eyepiece projection through Baader, Celestron, or Pentax eyepieces with T-thread adapters, and you could also use a Powermate or barlow lens with a proper T adapter to move the foca
Is it possible to use a Tele-vue powermate 2.5x attached to a DSLR camera with the proper T-ring and adaptor inserted in the barrel where you would put a regular eyepiece for imaging?
Yes, this setup would be able to reach infinity focus with your DSLR and PST.
Is it possible to use a binocular viewer directly with this PST? If not, is there a special adaptor available that would allow using a binocular viewer? And still reach prime focus?
You can use a binoviewer on a PST. You would use a 1.25" nosepiece to connect them.
