Ask a Question
  • How do you attach the optical tube to the fork arm?

The optical tube connects via a V-style dovetail on the side of the tube which attaches to a clamp on the fork arm.

  • How heavy is the Tak FSQ 106

The base weight of the scope is just under 15 lbs. Adding a tube holder, a dovetail, camera, and needed camera adapters will increase the weight from there.

  • Can I use a Schmidt- Cassegrain telescope right angle correct image finderscope on my Nexstar 8 se telescope? The bracket doesn't seem to fit?

The Celestron 93781 will work if you remove the red dot finder bracket. If you are using a third party finder, please contact us to discuss adaptation.

  • Does the 8se accept both 1.25 and 2" eyepieces?

The 8SE supports 1.25" eyepieces natively, but it will accept 2" eyepieces if you purchase an optional 2" SCT compatible diagonal.

  • Will the orion 9x50 finder scope fit this scope?  What other 9x50 finder scopes will fit this scope?

You can make either the Orion, Celestron, or StellarVue 50mm finders work on this scope, but only the Celestron version includes the complete bracket. The Orion one requires an additional foot and the StellarVue version has the bracket sold separately. Th
