little better

it brought Saturn and Jupiter closer with a 10mm, but I was hoping it would be clearer. It could also be the limit of my 6” reflector.

worsens CA

Not a bad Barlow to increase magnification on open/globular clusters and nebulae. However, this will exacerbate chromatic aberration. Not good for trying to split close, bright binary stars. By contrast, my Celestron 2x Barlow actually helps mitigate CA! May work fine on reflectors.
