  • The 19 mm Panoptic Eyepiece by Tele Vue:

With the Panoptic series, Tele Vue has taken the Wide-Field concept to Nagler-like performance levels, a meaningful advance over any eyepiece in its 68 degree field class. The Tele Vue 19 mm Panoptic eyepiece's size, weight, and performance make it an ideal mid-power choice. Ideal soul-mate to Bino Vue. It is parfocal with 15 mm and other smaller Plossls and Naglers.

Of course, multi-coatings, blackened lens edges, filter threads, rubber grip rings, and exemplary construction are standard on all Panoptics. Little niceties such as a cover for the eyeguard, and an undercut in the barrel for extra locking security complete the package. A double identifying ring distinguishes all Panoptics in your eyepiece case.

There are many a nights this is the only eyepiece I use - Works equally well in my 130mm APO and 9.25 SCT - Stars sharp to the edge in both scopes - Easy and comfortable to use - Its light weight just adds to this Pan's attractiveness. Even with other ep's of similiar FL this has a permanent place in my eyepiece box.

As I already have the 24mm, I expected the same quality: clarity with a very dark background. I also expected to see a difference in magnification. Unfortunately, I can't discern any difference in magnification and it doesn't seem to make the background as dark. A waste of money.
