Starlight Inst. Feathertouch SCT Microfocuser for Celestron CPC 800, NexStar 6SE & NexStar 8SE

The FeatherTouch SCT MicroFocuser by Starlight Instruments provides the smoothest control for fine focusing Celestron CPC800 telescopes.

Two focus knobs allows for standard or 1/10th-speed focusing, making the Feathertouch MicroFocuser extremely accurate. Excellent for both imaging or visual observing, this focuser is precision-machined and anodized black with a brass fine-focus knob.

The SCT Feathertouch MicroFocuser is easily installed in place of the original focus knob on the Celestron CPC800, the Celestron NexStar 6SE and the NexStar 8SE telescope. A built-in stop prevents the primary mirror from detaching from the focuser.

This model is not compatible with other 8-inch SCTs.

    Ask a Question
    • I have the original model of the Celestron 8SE released in 2004 or 2005.  It is a bit different from the current 8SE.  It's back is flat and does not have the triangle shape found in the late versions.  Can you advise on which micro focuser to get?

Hello Avtar, I spoke to Starlight Instruments & the focuser that you want to get is the SI-FTM-C8. This is for the older C8s which are different than the newer C8s which have a different focuser assembly.

    • How much is the central obstruction compared to celestron c6....it certainly look bigger than c6 ?

Hello Sandy, According to Meade, the size of the secondary on the Meade 6" ACF is 2.8 inches while the secondary on the Celestron is 2.3 inches so yes. it is bigger.

    • I have a Celestron EdgeHD 800 (8" SCT), will this focuser work with that telescope? I see other models advertised to work with the cpc and edgeHD versions of other sizes however I don't see a focuser model advertised to work with the 8" EdgeHD.

Yes, I can speak from experience that this microfocuser will fit an 8" EdgeHD telescope, as I used it on mine in the past.

    • I have a Celestron EdgeHD 800 (8" SCT), will this focuser work with that telescope? I see other models advertised to work with the cpc and edgeHD versions of other sizes however I don't see a focuser model advertised to work with the 8" EdgeHD.

Yes, This will work the CPC 800 Edge HD.

    • Will this work with the latest Celestron C6 - XLT? This a new scope

This will work, but you will need to measure the outside diameter of the flange of the stock focuser (the part of the stock focuser that mates to the rear cell) as Celestron uses 2 different size of flanges. 1 that is 1.5"/38mm and 1 that is 1.6"/40.6mm.
