Explore the Stars With Features of The QHY 5L-II Monochrome

As a member of the QHY5-II series, the QHY5L-II design retains the 1.25-inch (eyepiece size) form factor and the standard ST-4 Opto-isolated guide port. The high QE of 74% plus the high-speed USB2 port enables very fast frame rates, making this an ideal planetary camera. The camera uses a single USB port for camera control and power to provide simplicity and ease of use. The USB communication port has been updated to take advantage of the full download speed and to eliminate noise that had been caused by the USB port in the past. This camera is an extraordinary device for both autoguiding and planetary photography, all at a very attractive price point. The QHY5L-IIM camera comes with a parfocal adjustment ring, 1.25-inch extension tube/filter holder, and a USB and guide cable.

QHY 5L-II Monochrome CMOS Telescope Camera

The QHY 5L was bought and received a couple week ago to work with a SKywatcher AZ-GTi Goto mount. Using it along with PHD2 I was able to get stars in a field of view to focus in on tight stars in order to attempt polar alignment, but getting errors. However I continue to try to research more to properly use the camera for auto guiding. This is my first camera and mount. Despite not having much knowledge hope to be be able to figure it out. Overall the camera works fine once you have all the proper drivers installed.

Working great!

I'm using my QHY 5L-II with a Svbony 60mm double helical finder scope, and it's working great. My settings are 2.2 on forward focuser, and 2.45 on rear focusing ring. I get plenty of stars for guiding, and with Sharpcap Pro, polar alignment is a breeze.

Nice little contraption

Using this for as my first auto guider. So far things are working just as expected. Very happy with the light weight and easy functionality. I am using this on an Astroberry through Ekos.

Excellent value for a guide camera

This camera solved most of my issues with poor guiding. Fast USB connection. Sensitive sensor. Great buy.

A reliable workhorse, and probably all the autoguider you'll ever need

I purchased this camera for autoguiding with both a 50mm and 30mm guidescope. Both of these setups can easily guide my 5" apo for 15 minute subs accurately. For just $169, this is probably one of the best options for autoguiding to spend your dollars on. The sensitivity of this camera is more than sufficient to pick out stars from anywhere you point in the sky, and the relatively small pixels also allows you to guide accurately using shorter FL guidescopes.

Super Service

Received my order very quickly. Haven’t had the opportunity to use it yet but expect it to work fine as a guide camera.
