    • will this equatorial mount with the "v" series head accept a celestron SC telescope with CG5 dovetail mount?

      As long as the SCT you are mounting is less than the 12 lb weight capacity of the AstroView mount (5" and 6" would work, but 8" scopes are too heavy), a scope with a CG5 rail will fit right onto this mount. You may need to get an additional counterweight

      This equatorial is driven manually, so it wouldn't do very well for tracking. If you were to purchase the Orion EQ-3M Single-Axis Telescope Drive for this mount. It would be sufficient enough for visual use. If you plan on doing any astrophotography, I wo

      For visual use, this mount will work with a light 8" tube (SCT or f/4-f/5 Newtonian) as long as the total weight is below 18-20 lbs.
