Contrast is maximized due to the blackened interior and blackened lens edges that eliminate any internal glare or off-axis reflections. Your power-boosted observations will be optimized in regards to sharpness, clarity, and brightness, giving you a wonderful viewing experience.

  You're able to use this Barlow lens with longer focal length eyepieces if you want to experience a more comfortable view with better eye relief and edge sharpness than a lower focal length eyepiece. Considering the fact that lower focal length eyepieces usually have a very small eye lens that makes it difficult to peer through, using a longer focal length eyepiece in the Orion High-Power 5x Barlow will allow you to enjoy twice the magnifying power while maintaining the comfortable eye relief and sharp field edge.

  A brass compression ring inside the High-Power 5x Barlow lens helps to keep any inserted 1.25" eyepiece both free of scratches and thumbscrew gouges. The lens is fashioned with a rubber grip exterior that provides a sure grip and the 1.25" barrel features a safety recess to keep the Barlow Lens from falling out of a focuser or diagonal if the retaining thumbscrew becomes loose. This Barlow's barrel is also threaded for easy use with 1.25" Orion filters.
