The Orion 0.85x Focal Reducer Corrector for use with an ED80 f/7.5 refractor telescope to reduce the effective focal length and create shorter exposure times that result in better, brighter images.

This is designed exclusively for use with the 80 mm ED and optimized for photography with DSLR cameras. The reducer-flattener features three-element optical assembly and is fully multi-coated.

The Reducer-Corrector threads onto the focuser draw-tube's male threads for a secure fit that will not introduce flexure. T-threads on the camera side accept your camera's T-ring. You will need a "wide" T-ring for your brand of camera, sold separately.

This is a Focal Reducer designed for use with the Orion 80 mm ED Apochromatic refractor optical tube and is not compatible with the EON 80ED.

It has a two-element 0.85x Focal Reducer lens assembly which features one element made from ED extra-low dispersion optical glass. The fully multi-coated optics (all air-to-glass surfaces) are multi-layer coated to ensure bright, high-contrast performance.

Made for astrophotography use with DSLR cameras with sensor chips as large as 36 mm x 24 mm. It reduces the ED80 telescope's effective focal length from 600 mm to 510 mm (f/7.5 to f/6.3) for a wider imaging field of view.
