- light pollution filter
Works great in for broadband targets and in heavy light pollution.
It is a very capable filter it functions well for me as a light pollution filter So as far as filters go, there’s a little bit of magic to this one
I previously owned two different Light Pollution filters, Orions' and Lumicon. The Optolong filter provides better contrast and I've gained a little more detail in what used to be washed out when using the other filters. I live in a Bortle scale of 8.
So far so good. Living in a Bortle 8/9 city this filter has allowed me to increase iso and exposure time significantly for DSO
So happy to hear, Max! Clear skies!
Very pleased with my first result from light polluted fringes of San Diego using the Optolong L-Pro through my 72 mm refractor and ZWO ASI533MC Pro (also new from OPT). No comparison image without the filter, but, considering that you can only see a dozen or so stars in the entire sky from my backyard, this isn’t too bad. I annotated this image of M101 and its companion galaxies for my facebook friends.
I have neighbors with yard lights and sky glow from a city about 10 miles away. I have tried other CLS light pollution filters with some success. I heard about the Optolong L-Pro light pollution filter from some tutorials on you tube and other sources and decided to give it a try. I have had very good results including with a half moon very near my imaging area. My final images are sharp and detailed with good dark background sky.
