TPO #11 Yellow-Green Color Filter & Case - 1.25" Round Mounted

Eyepiece filters are an invaluable aid in lunar and planetary observing. They reduce glare and light scattering, increase contrast through selective filtration, increase definition and resolution, reduce irradiation, and lessen eye fatigue.

TPO filters are made of high quality, solid plane parallel glass with excellent homogeneity. They are anti-reflection coated to prevent glaring and ghosting. All eyepiece filters are threaded to fit most 1.25 inch eyepieces and offer a full 26mm clear aperture. Comes with a hinged plastic case.

The TPO #11 Yellow-Green (78% transmission): Contrasts well with the red and blue characteristics of surface features on Jupiter and Saturn. Darkens the maria visible on Mars, and clarifies the Cassini division in Saturn's rings.

#11 for Lunar Observing

Nice subtle improvement to contrast of all features, contrasting both dark maria and lava flows, and bright ejecta features as well better than without filtration. Quite excellent for studying the darker lava flows on the surface of the Moon. Adds a moderate yellow tint to the overall view that is not distracting. The #8 and #11 are the best of all the color filters for adding contrast to Lunar features. The #8 for general improvement and the #11 for more detailed study of darker regolith across the maria and lava flows.
