It was a Christmas gift, It won't be opened until then.
Scope glass is okay, tripod is too light, telescope mount uses a single screw to hold scope in place and is plastic (no metal), and the diagonal is a toy in terms of quality and light transmission.
The scope is super easy to set up and use. I have quite a bit of experience using telescopes in the past but had never had my own. Was looking originally to get something bigger/more expensive (still will eventually), but I decided to go with something cheaper to get me started. Moon, Jupiter and Saturn looked great. Waiting for the new moon to go look at deeper sky objects. Would be a great scope for a novice astronomer or an intermediate one like myself that doesn’t want to shell out a lot of money.
Nice telescope for the price. Good choice for starting out.
Very easy to assemble and provides a good view of the sky. The hand-operated azimuth changers work well.
I was looking for an inexpensive entry into astronomy and this Meade telescope has been a great buy. Clearly see the rings of Saturn and the Galilean moons, easy to set up and really fun to use. Happy to recommend!
