Lunt Solar 60mm H-Alpha Telescope - B1200 - Pressure Tuner - Crayford Focuser

Lunt Solar Systems LS60THa Hydrogen-Alpha Telescope

Now introducing the Lunt Solar Systems LS60/Ha H-Alpha Telescope! This is good news for beginners and mid-level observers, a refractor-based system which starts off with a precision aligned singlet chromatical lens with a 60 mm aperture with a focal length of 500 mm. Inside this custom-made refractor, you'll find an internal etalon with pressure tune adjustment which allows for a maximum of <0.75 Angstrom bandpass. You'll get a sharp, crisp ~4.5 mm image over a larger area through its 12 mm blocking filter, revealing excellent details on both the solar surface, limb edge, flares and prominences. The front singlet lens reduces half of the stray light of an achromat and it fully eliminates the possibility of an on axis coma, astigmatism, de-centering aberrations. It provides with the matched collimation lens set a full spherical corrected flat-field .We're talking about a professional level quality solar telescope at an affordable price!

But there's more than just a pretty view... You can achieve coarse focus adjustment with a slide tube, and then fine adjustments to focus are accomplished via the included dual-speed Crayford style focuser with 10:1 reduction. Its clam shell mount is compatible with most tripods and mounting holes are all part of the Lunt Solar Telescope System.... Right down to the stylized white pearl paint with anodized black trim and included foam lined hard case!

Lunt Solar Systems creates their line of h-alpha solar telescopes in Tuscon, Arizona. They have have put together a group of experienced solar enthusiasts who are looking forward to energizing the hobby with a continued commitment to advancing technologies, pride in quality, and the highest level of customer care. These are names you'll recognize, including Andrew Lunt with 20 years of optical design, Markus Ludes with his extensive knowledge of telescope design, Manny Serrano as a design engineer and Brian Stevens assembling, repairing and troubleshooting etalon systems. And newly designed etalon systems are what it's all about.... Some of their new products will range from an entry level 50 mm etalon filter through to a 160 mm Lunt Solar Telescope System using different components... One that's less thermally sensitive and far less prone to de-contacting.

I just purchased this beautiful and affordable little scope from OPT. It's very well made and the views are truly awesome, even though it's not double stacked. I'm using my Canon 5D for imaging and it's very easy to connect directly to the diagonal. I could tell the moment I opened the included hard case that this would be a keeper. I've also been in touch a couple of times with the people at Lunt over in AZ and they were great to deal with.
