iOptron CubePro GoTo Alt-Azimuth Mount

The iOptron CubePro GoTo AltAzimuth Mount is the ideal portable mount to go with your portable celestial or solar telescope. The CubePro features a SmartStar computerized control system with 130,000 objects and an 8-line backlit LCD screen. A 32 channel internal GPS, easy alignment procedure and accurate GoTo and auto-tracking minimize the setup time. 1" stainless steel tripod legs with a metal platform and metal hinges make the mount very sturdy. You don't have to worry about this one wobbling!

The compact design of the tripod and the mount makes it easy to carry around in a travel case, and the mount assembly time takes less than 5 minutes. The standard dovetail makes this mount compatible with many different OTAs. CubePro is compatible with all ASCOM compliant planetarium programs and many other programs such as Sky X, Starry Night and Voyager.

Very good. I have owned

Very good. I have owned one before and sadly parted with it. Now I have another one and I'm happy.

A Compact and lightweight mount

I have several Ioptron Cube mounts, and I like them all. That includes my Cube Pro. It is great for what it is designed for. This is not a super accurate mount for astrophotography. It is not a beefy mount for heavy, large telescopes. It is a small mount for smaller telescopes, and it works great in that capacity. It is lightweight and easy to use. The gotos are quick and accurate. Setup is easy, and the GPS worked first time, every time. It is limited with an 8 pound payload capacity, but I had no problem using it with refractors up to 80mm, smaller SCT's, and smaller solar telescopes. Plus, it is very compact and lightweight. The only issues I have with the mount are the lightweight tripod and a bit of slop in the drive gears. But, other than those two issues that were easy to compensate for, I like this mount quite a bit.

Lost in time

when I received my 6" scope with a Ioptron 8408 smart cube there were no instructions on how to use it. Just some quick start guide that covered every cube but mine. I ended up going on-line myself and printing a 40 page users manual. Ioptrons technical support is not very helpful at all.
