    iOptron CubePro GoTo Alt-Azimuth Mount

The iOptron CubePro GoTo AltAzimuth Mount is the ideal portable mount to go with your portable celestial or solar telescope. The CubePro features a SmartStar computerized control system with 130,000 objects and an 8-line backlit LCD screen. A 32 channel internal GPS, easy alignment procedure and accurate GoTo and auto-tracking minimize the setup time. 1" stainless steel tripod legs with metal platform and metal hinges makes the mount very sturdy. The compact design of the tripod and the mount makes it easy to carry around in a travel case, and the mount assembly time takes less than 5 minutes. The standard dovetail makes this mount compatible with many different OTAs. CubePro is compatible with all ASCOM compliant planetarium programs and many other programs such as Sky X, Starry Night and Voyager.

    Ask a Question
    • Is the IOptron Cube Pro go to mount that you sell an appropriate mount to handle the  Explore Scientific AR102 f/6.5 Air-Spaced Doublet Achromatic Refractor Telescope which you also sell?  I do not plan to do any astrophotography with the scope.

The Cube Pro mount is rated to 12 lbs and the Explore Scientific AR102 telescope is 11.3 lbs before you add rings, the dovetail, a diagonal, or an eyepiece. By the time you have the AR102 fully loaded, you would be closer to 14-15 lbs, and too heavy for t

    • is there a way to operate this mount off of DC battery power since I note they only include an AC adapter plus disposable battery power options

The CubePro is compatible with the IO-8418 DC 12v power cable (cigarette lighter type) if you want to use other types of portable power sources.

    • I have a skywatcher 127 mak 7.5 lbs + diagonal and eyepiece ,not planning on and photo eqiptment at all ,ok fit for this mount or close to limit ?

As long as you are on stable ground and the wind is not severe, this mount should be good for strictly visual use. You may want to add vibration suppression pads under the tripod legs if cars or people nearby cause vibrations.

    • What are the dimensions

The length is 10.5" and the diameter at the dew shield is 2.25". The diameter where the rings attach is almost exactly 2.0"

    • Hi, I have a 10 yr old ETX 90. How to you mount that to this cube? Does it have a standard tripod screw? Or would I need to mount it via rings and a Vixen style dovetail?

If you remove the ETX90 from the fork, there are a couple of 1/4"-20 tap on the bottom. You would need a small dovetail like the AA-VDUP4 to attach the OTA to the mount: The

    • In the descripion, you wrote "12 lb payload" In the additional information, weight capacity 8 lb I'd like to know the weight capacity of this mount. Is it 12 lb or 8 lb ?

12 lbs is the maximum load, 8 lbs is the recommended max stable load.
