Product Details

  • This center-balanced iOptron CEM25EC Mount with a 1.75-Inch Tripod and Hard Case is a smooth, lightweight equatorial mount that consumes up to 60 percent less GoTo power when compared with similar mounts.

This iOptron equatorial mount features a high precision optical encoder system with advanced control electronics. Even with its sub $2000 price tag, the CEM25EC will track a star at a periodic error less than 0.3 arc second!

This mount's "Z" design places the payload weight at the center of mass, providing better natural balance. At only 10.4-pounds, the CEM25 is remarkably light given its 27-pound payload capacity. This comes in handy when having to set up at a remote location. Additional features include an adjustable counterweight bar to avoid interference with the tripod and polar alignment that is quick and available at all times since it isn't impeded by the declination shaft.

The CEM25 is outfitted with the most advanced GoToNova, Go-To technology, making it one of the top GoTo mounts on the market in terms of power and accuracy. Its database features more than 59,000 objects. With its large 4-line LCD screen, the GoToNova controller is a user-friendly tool that streamlines the process of setting telescopes and finding objects in the night sky.

Great Tracking!

I've not had this for long, but managed to get out on a clear night and shoot Andromeda M31. What a difference from my Ioptron Skyguider pro! Carefully using only the Accu-Align polar scope - no guide scope - I was able to get 2'30" subs with pin point stars with my 71mm, F4.9 scope. I'm looking forward to using my 102mm F7.5 and guide scope for declination only as recommended by others. Build quality, fit and finish all look to be excellent. No, it is not nearly as easy to lug around as the Skyguider Pro, and the excellent tracking and GOTO features are worth it. Again, this a 'first light' review, but I'm expecting it to continue to perform.
