JMI does not have the specific measurements for the Discovery 8" Dobsonian, but a DSC computer and encoders could be purchased for approximately $500-900 depending on the database of the computer (~200 objects at the low end and ~40,000 at the high end).

Discovery does not specify, but they have usually used soda lime glass for 10" and smaller mirrors in the past.
Can the single speed crayford focuser handle the weight of a 2.7 lb load from a heavy eyepiece and barlow/accessory by focusing without backlash?
