- light pollution
It is very easy to set up and operate. The SkyAlign works awesome. The goto feature is pretty spot on. My sites to observe from are terrible due to light pollution, and I’ve still been able to see Messier objects and Andromeda. I’m really impressed. Cons-the hand controller is terrible! It doesn’t save your data, and is terribly counter-intuitive. I purchased the wifi module and it is a completely different machine. I also wish that the tube could be aligned/locked in place with the wedge to do a simple polar alignment. Polar alignment isn’t easy in my experience. If the wedge rotated it would be golden. I read some mainstream reviews that all said “buy a bigger scope”, but if you aren’t made of money, this one is great. I laugh like a giddy child when I see new stuff. Just buy it.
I am new to the hobby. This is my first telescope. Mainly wanted it to view the moon with my grandson who is u usually fascinated by it. Learning as fas as I can. The Celestron SE 5” appears to be very well made - much bigger and stronger than I expected. Pleasant surprise!!
The 5SE is a fine telescope. It was easy to set up and use. We used it in two different locations and it was easy to transport and use in both. One little weakness was the finderscope. This is rather fragile and not up to Celestron’s usual quality standards. We intend to replace it with a competing product.
It’s been great, I’ve used it 3 times so far and loved it
I love the telescope! I am still in the process of aligning the telescope for my area which does have a lot of light pollution but am hopeful to get to a good location soon.
the best telescope ever had thank you
