It goes into detail about the sizes of craters, how marias are formed, its natural history and other fascinating facts.

    About Robert Reeves

Reeves first photographed the Moon in 1959, just as our space program was setting its sights on lunar exploration. Since then, he’s become one of the world’s best lunar imagers and a prolific author on astrophotography. Using Celestron telescopes from his home in Texas, Reeves captured more detailed images than professional astronomers could during the early days of the Apollo missions.

Celestron FirstScope Signature Series Moon by Robert Reeves

I like this scope, sure it not not biggest or the greatest but it's light and portable I can see objects fairly clear. I can carry it to a sight without hurting my back. The focuser is smooth and it focuses great. the field of view is wide. I got a barlow lens and accessory kit for my scope. Great for parents and kids...

Great beginner telescope

Very easy to use. I bought this telescope to specifically look at the moon.

Celestron Firstscope review

I like this scope. The mount is very solid and fairly easy to use and, from what I could see through the 20mm eyepiece, gave a well detailed view. Of course, I have only used it once and I won't use this scope again until I can afford to replace the almost useless eyepieces that come with this scope. Yes, I know that chintzy eyepieces like these are included with beginners' scopes to cut costs and supposedly get one started but a Huygens eyepiece, an over 300 year old design; really? I would think that such eyepieces would serve to discourage not encourage a new scope owner. For goodness sake, at least consider a modified achromat. I believe that this little scope could really shine with a better set of eyepieces.

Not really a review. Acknowledgement of good service from OPT

Gift for Grand Children. Came promptly and appears to work properly as their report to me, 1700 miles away. Reported that a piece was broken off on the lens cap in the sealed box but that did not affect the operation of the telescope. Good service from OPT.
