    Celestron Telescope Bino Viewer

Want to get into binoviewing at a great price? Celestron has just announced a stereo binocular viewer for under $200...that's less of an investment than many eyepieces! The Celestron Stereo Binocular Viewer allows you to adapt two eyepieces to your telescope and view with both eyes simultaneously. In addition to eliminating eye fatigue associated with viewing through one eye for a prolonged period of time. The Celestron bino viewer also provides a three dimensional effect while observing many celestial objects and improves contrast on deep sky objects as well as solar system objects!

The Celestron Stereo Binocular Viewer was designed for any catadioptric telescope using 1.25" accessories and most refractors. These designs usually have enough back focus travel to handle the extended light path of the prisms which the Celestron BinoViewer employs. As with most binoviewers, achieving focus with limited focuser travel could cause problems. A cure is to remove any additional focuser drawtube sections or to use a 2X barlow. By inserting any brand of short barlow in front of the Celestron Stereo Binocular Viewer, it will act as a transfer lens and usually allow the unit to achieve focus. If you have concerns about whether or not the Celestron CE-93691 Binocular Viewer will work with your telescope, please do not hesitate to contact our sales staff. For image fusion issues, try rotating the eyepieces while in the holder... Many times this simple adjustment of the optical axis will cure a multitude of problems! Its one year Celestron warranty and strict quality control means you'll get precision optics that are guaranteed against everything but being dropped or abused.

All in all, the Celestron Stereo Telescope Binocular Viewer is a fine addition to your astronomy gear. It is very well constructed with features you'll appreciate like rubberized black paint for a sure grip, metal thumbscrews, helical focusing and clearly marked diopter settings. But, that's not all... The internally blacked, 1.25" adapter tube is threaded for filters for long planetary or lunar viewing sessions, and you'll love what a nebular filter can achieve! You'll be delighted with the optical quality of the Celestron Binoviewers, too. There's no vignetting or light cutoff at the edges of the field as seen in lower quality models and the fully multicoated BaK-4 prisms achieve high light transmission... all from precision optics weighing only 18 ounces!

    Questions & Answers

    Ask a Question
    • will this item work with my zhumell 8 inch dobson with a shorty 2x barlow

Unfortunately, as we do not carry the Zhumell dobs and so cannot test this, we cannot say for sure if this will reach infinity focus in that scope.

    • will this work with my c5 mac spotter scope

No The Bino viewer will not be able to achieve focus with the C90 Spotting Scope

    • Does it use a compression ring to hold the eyepieces? Does it come with any magnifying nose piece or barlow?

Yes, the binoviewer does use compression rings on the eyepiece end, but it does not come with a magnifying nosepiece or barlow.

    • Can this bino viewer be used with my Celestron NexStar 127 SLT telescope?

Yes, this should work with the Nexstar 127 SLT Maksutov-Cassegrain with a 1.25" diagonal, though you may need to use a barlow to reach focus with some eyepieces.

    • Will the binocular viewer provide an upright correct image for terrestrial viewing?

This binoviewer will not change the orientation of the telescope. For this to give you an upright correct image, you would have to be using a scope / diagonal combination that gave you an upright correct image even with a single eyepiece.

    • WIll this work with the Advanced VX scopes?

Some, but not others (at least not without additional parts). This will work just fine with an SCT or EdgeHD telescope with a moving primary mirror, but it will not focus in a refractor with a diagonal or a Newtonian without at least adding a 2x barlow l
