Product Details

  • The Celestron 11-inch RASA combines speed with performance. Based on the original Schmidt camera design, the RASA optical tube offers significant advantages by providing a short focal length for a relatively large aperture. Experience essentially perfect imaging with this Celestron astrograph.

The Celestron RASA offers an exceptionally sharp 43.3 mm image circle that accommodates large sensors. Its large image circle creates an exceptional wide-field, allowing you to fill even the largest imaging chips with edge-to-edge pinpoint stars with minimal vignetting.

    Fast Astrograph Optical System

Its short focal length provides a wide-field f/2.2 system, offering the advantage of better apparent tracking. With only a 620 mm focal length, exposure times are also greatly reduced when compared to traditional Schmidt Cassegrain telescopes. You'll be capturing better images in a fraction of the time, without the need of an autoguider!

Excellent Clarity and Flat Field of View

The Rowe-Ackermann scopes are perfect for creating giant night-sky mosaics, surveying, and comet hunting. Designed with 4-element rare-earth glass, images are free of false color, coma, and field curvature. Optical quality this excellent has been unheard of in astrographs within this price range.

Below you'll see an incredible image of the Rosette Nebula taken by Jason Guenzel using the Triad Ultra filter on the super-fast f/2.2 Celestron RASA telescope!

Better Than Expected

These counterweights are quite a bargain, concentrating a log of weight (10kg) into a single spot on the counterweight shaft. Excellent for 1.25" or 32mm applications. I used them on a 30mm counterweight shaft, by putting in a thin teflon sleeve made of adhesive teflon material. The finish is not "perfect", but is surprisingly good for counterweights from this source, and the knobs are easy to use and effective. There is a non-marring plastic tip on the securing bolt end.

CGX-L first test.

So far I love it. No backlash! It works well with the external GPS and star sync. It would be nice if they built in a USB hub. It would also be nice if it had a built in GPS. Having the power and hand pad plug in stationary was a huge improvement. Shipping by OPT was fast.

Blows my AVX away, but its supposed to.

Have not had much use of it (cgx-l) yet, but have it up and running, and the few times I have used it, are amazing to say the least. Glad I sprung for the (-L) rather than just the cgx. The tracking is excellent, so far for observing, have not hooked up either of my cameras yet. Can't find my guide camera. So relying only on Telrad ATM. Will need to update this, but so far well worth it for the EdgeHD11". Did get a motorized focus, and that thing is AWESOME, but for another review/feedback.

My God look at all the stars

Theirs nothing but good things to say about this mount. Read most reviews and You Tube most owners are very pleased as I. I do own the CGEM-DX what very sturdy but my C14 with accessory is pushing it. The new mount no problem. The only thing to get use to is the polar scope if you decide you go that route. The hand control cable like all Celestron scope is a bit short you can purchase a extension cord from scope stuff. And last not one but at lease two counter weight. The reason you buy a heavy duty mount is to put a heavy load on it. Or maybe and option to get a few accessories maybe at a slight discount.

Easy, ergonomic adjustments

Very sturdy construction. Large, well placed knobs for easy adjustments. NexStar+ HC easy to learn with lots of navigation options.
