    Baader Planetarium 1.25" Methane Narrowband Imaging Filter - 889nm, 8nm


    This 1.25" Methane Narrowband filter is most commonly used for planetary imaging, but with appropriate filtration, it can also be employed as a way to add contrast when imaging the Sun. Optics consist of Schott RG830 glass with super stack dielectric coatings for a pristine 889nm methane band transmission. This durable filter achieves spectacular effects through optically polished and hard coated glass. Filter edges are sealed to combat aging.

    Please keep in mind that this is an extremely narrowband (8nm) filter and is therefore meant to only be used with an imaging device like a CCD camera or a webcam since human eyes do not perceive this part of the spectrum. For a positive imaging experience, this filter should be used with an IR-sensitive CCD camera and a 5" or more aperture telescope, or an IR-sensitive webcam and an 8" or more aperture telescope.
