Pure reducers, such as Astro Physics' CCDT67, reduce the focal length without correcting the image field. The result is an aberration (astigmatism) in the corners. The larger the sensor, the more pronounced the aberration. The Artesky reducer is specially designed for the image field of RC f/8 telescopes, so it completely eliminates aberrations. The results are sharper, more precise stars and easier focusing.
Fitting to Telescope
You have two possibilities for adapting to the RC telescope. You can slide the corrector into the focuser or screw it onto the focuser with the included adapter
- Adaptation via M68x1 female thread on the side of the telescope: By means of special adapters, it is possible to connect the corrector to any focuser from 2.5 "upwards. It is sufficient to equip the focuser with an M68x1 male thread on the camera side. Please note that a working distance of at least 135 mm from the thread is required. male
- Adaptation with adapter included Together with the reducer, Artesky supplies an adapter from M68 to M78x1 with male thread; this makes it possible to connect the reducer in focusers with M78x1 female thread, such as the Artesky 3 "RC focusers In this case the back focus is reduced to 100mm
- Room adaptation: The working distance from the M68x1 male thread on the camera side is 82mm, so you have enough space for individual adaptations or accessories such as off-axis guides.
