Celestron NexStar 6SE f/10 GoTo Telescope
Celestron NexStar 6SE f/10 GoTo Telescope
This telescope is an excellent choice for a beginner getting into astronomy, It’s has a large 6” aperture that is powerful enough to resolve Cassini’s Division in Saturn’s rings, the cloud bands on Jupiter, and geographic features on the surface of the Moon. It is lightweight and can be run on batteries which will make it easy to take on trips. It is also versatile enough to be used for both Deep Space and Planetary astrophotography.
- 6-inch aperture with excellent light-gathering ability provides impressive views of the Moon and planets, along with deep sky objects like the Orion Nebula.
- Fully automated, GoTo mount with database of 40,000+ celestial objects will automatically locate and track objects for you.
- SkyAlign technology gets your telescope aligned and ready to observe in minutes. Even if you’re unfamiliar with the night sky, you can easily set up your telescope on any three bright objects in the sky.
- Unique single fork arm design and sturdy steel tripod all break down into separate components for easy transport and quick assembly.
The TPO ND filter is a must-have accessory when viewing the moon. The moon is the brightest object in the night sky. It can get so bright that it can feel like you are shining a flashlight into one of your eyes. The TPO ND filter will darken the image of the moon so that it will be comfortable to view all night long. This filter will fit any 1.25-inch barrel, so it can fit onto any
The TPO 15 mm eyepiece is a medium-high magnification eyepiece. This eyepiece is ideal for looking at fine details of nebulae or galaxies. When paired with a 2x Barlow it will give some of the best views of the large planets.
The TPO 40 mm Plossl eyepiece is a great eyepiece for a bright and wide field of view. We recommend that this is the first eyepiece that you use when observing since it makes very easy to find the object that you are looking for. It is also the best choice when looking at large and faint objects. When paired with a 2X Barlow It works like mid-range magnification eyepiece.
The TPO 2X Barlow is in an extremely useful tool. When used, it will double the magnification of any eyepiece that you put inside of it. This vastly extends the versatility of your 3 eyepieces to give you the versatility of 6 eyepieces.

This Telescope has some Awesome Accessories
StarSense Auto Align
This device enables automatic align your Nexstar 6SE in under three minutes without the need to identify or locate any star in the sky. It provides advanced mount modeling for extremely precise GoTo pointing accuracy. When your alignment needs to be perfect, you can add up to 10 additional calibration stars to achieve a new level of accuracy that is great for locating objects in the camera’s field of view for astroimaging.
This way it works is a small digital camera replaces your finder scope and attaches via one of two provided mounting brackets. The camera automatically captures a series of images of the sky and StarSense hand controller or SkyPortal App identifies the stars in the images, matching them to their databases. Once a positive match is confirmed, StarSense calculates the coordinates of the center of the captured image, determining exactly where the telescope is pointed.
Sky Portal WiFi Module
Celestron's SkyPortal Wi-Fi Module turns your smartphone, tablet or computer into your own personal planetarium and observatory! Just plug the Wi-Fi module into your Nexstar 6SE’s AUX port and connect to its wireless signal with your device to become a wireless hand controller for your telescope, guiding you through the alignment process and slewing to any celestial object with a simple tap.
The SkyPortal app has intuitive Compass Mode enables you to hold your device up to the night sky and instantly identify stars, planets, galaxies, and more. Zoom in to view fainter objects not visible to the naked eye and send your telescope to hone in on those objects. It can show you the best objects to view based on your time and location, The app is full of hundreds of astronomical photographs and NASA spacecraft images and has more than four hours of audio narration to learn the history, mythology, and science of the heavens.
Out of the box, the Nexstar 6se works great for planetary imaging. All you need to do is get a planetary camera and use it like an eyepiece with the TPO Barlow and you will be able to get amazing images of Saturn and its rings or the storm on Jupiter.
But when it comes to taking long exposures for deep space images, the 6SE will not cut it by itself. Its Alt-Az tracking keeps objects centered but doesn’t account for rotation in the field of view. A long exposure will start to blur after few seconds.
The Celestron Wedge enables long exposure astrophotography and autoguiding by tilting the telescope’s azimuth into an equatorial platform allowing it to track an arc around the polar axis. With it allow you to increase your exposure time from seconds to minutes and see the deepest darkest regions of space.
All-Star Polar Alignment
Get ready for a night of astroimaging with your mount faster than previously thought possible with All-Star Polar Alignment. This innovative software solves the time-consuming problem of trying to pinpoint the North Celestial Pole.
This telescope control software replaces the hand control and allows the user to remotely control their Celestron computerized telescope from their personal PC or laptop.
SkyAlign alignment technology makes setting up a computerized telescope simple, fast, and accurate. Just point the telescope at any three bright objects — stars, bright planets, or even the Moon — and your telescope can orient itself with the night sky.
The new Lithium Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery chemistry has significant advantages over other battery chemistries, great for those Astronomers on the go.
Celestron’s patented StarSense Technology makes it easier than ever to locate objects in the night sky, even if you’ve never used a telescope before. Turn it on and push ‘Align.’ In about three minutes, you’re ready to observe!
WiFi technology encircles the globe in a web of connectivity, knowledge, and information. Now, Celestron is using that same technology to allow stargazers to connect to the night sky and enhance their experience of the cosmos in fun and unique ways.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERSAsk a Question
Does the Celestron Nexstar 4, 5, 6SE telescopes support photography ???
Hi Edward, They do support photography, but in a limited fashion. You can attach a DSLR to the scope and get some decent images of the entire moon. You can attach a astronomy webcam to get some closeups. Using a webcam you could probably get some dec
Does they six inch have a built in altitude adjuster to tilt it like they 5 inch
Unfortunately, no. The 6" and 8" do not have the built in wedge adapter on their tripod.
